AI knowledge curation: your information layer, rebuilt for people and AI

AI is only as good as the knowledge beneath it.

We work with your experts to restructure and rewrite your contracts, policies, commentary and governance documents so AI systems retrieve the right content, represent it accurately — and human reviewers can verify the answers.

The fix behind every accurate AI answer

When Copilot or a custom assistant gives a wrong answer, the instinct is to blame the tool. Usually the fault is upstream: knowledge that was never structured for machine reading. Outdated versions living beside current ones. Sections that only make sense with three pages of context. Conditions buried in cross-references. Terminology that shifts from clause to clause.

AI knowledge curation fixes the source. We restructure documents into sections that stand alone (what retrieval engineers call chunking), make conditions explicit, standardise terminology, resolve versions, and add the metadata and taxonomy that let AI find the right content every time — while rewriting in plain language so the human reading the AI's answer can understand and verify it. Machine-readable and human-readable are not two projects; they're one property of well-designed knowledge.

What an engagement looks like

We typically begin with an AI readiness review to score your estate and rank the failure points. Curation then proceeds document set by document set: your subject-matter experts supply the substance, our lawyers and designers supply the restructure and redraft, and every batch is verified two ways — the AI is tested against ground-truth questions, and where scope allows, real users are tested through the full pipeline. You end with knowledge that is measurably accurate through AI, not just tidier in SharePoint.

Built by a team that builds AI

We're not applying theory. Inkling has built and tested AI that reads legal terms — our solution won Gold at the Good Design Australia Awards, and the FT's 2026 Innovative Lawyers report featured our AI-powered predictive drafting tool, built on our global user-testing data. We know what makes legal knowledge machine-readable because we've trained the machines and measured the results. Our recognition record →

FAQ

What is AI knowledge curation?

The restructuring and rewriting of an organisation's documents — contracts, policies, procedures, governance content — so AI systems retrieve and represent them accurately and human readers understand the output. It covers structure, chunking, plain language, terminology, versioning and metadata.

How is this different from a SharePoint or intranet clean-up?

A clean-up organises files; curation redesigns the content inside them. Tidy folders don't fix a 70-word sentence or a buried condition — and those are what make AI answers wrong. We work at the level of the documents themselves.

Do we need to rewrite everything?

No. The readiness review identifies which document sets drive the most AI queries and the most risk; curation is prioritised there first. Most organisations see the largest improvement from a surprisingly small share of their estate.

Which AI platforms does this work with?

All of them — the work is in your knowledge, not the tool. Well-curated content improves Microsoft.
